My Veild Chameleon Won't Eat Plants At All.

When I first got my veiled, he loved schefflera leaves, but eventually he realized that the leaves weren't anything compared to hornworms, supers, and crickets.

For Biology Project; A few questions for Panther and Veiled Chameleon Enthusiasts

http://rspb.royalsocietypublishing.org/content/280/1759/20130184 It appears that according to this, Furcifer (panther chameleon genus) and Chameleo (veiled chameleon genus) broke off approximately 47.5 million years ago. The breaking is likely due to the movement from Central Africa to what is...

    Picky Eater

He likely got addicted to the superworms; its happened to mine before as well, I try to limit out how many crickets I give per week. I suggest not giving up on crickets, if he's hungry he'll eat. Dubia roaches are good feeders, but I have not explored them too much.

    Feeder Equivalency

Does anyone have a pretty good idea of how different feeders satisfy a chameleon's appetite? I know that a superworm contains more fat than a cricket and a hornworm would contain more calcium and moisture than the both of them, but what is a good way of knowing how many feeders to give out in a...

    Flakey-ish Dead Looking Scales?

As long as the dead skin does not form a 'tourniquet' around an appendage, the cham is fine. :)

    Mouth Rot?

Update, it seems to be going away, but I still plan on disinfecting the area with Betadine.

New to Chams and have some questions.

A glass terrarium is not too ideal. It can allow for the harboring of bacterium which may prove problematic for your chameleon due to respiratory infections. A screen cage of the same size would be ideal. Not only does it provide better ventilation, a chameleon may also utilize the siding as...

    Mouth Rot?

It seems like it may be mouth rot. It is only on the outside of his lip, so I may have to check out getting a povidone-iodine solution or Baytril. I'll be checking with my vet tech soon, but if any of you have any idea what this could be, let me know. (Again, poor quality image, his right our...

    Mouth Rot?

Chameleon Info: Your Chameleon Veiled chameleon, male, 4-6 months of age, has been in my care for 1 Month Handling Only hand feeding, doesn't darken if I bring my hand near but he will shy away Feeding At least 10 3/4 crickets a day. Often with a hornworm or super worm Supplements Calc every...

New Cham Owner, How's this look?

The basking bulb is way too strong. A 50 to 75 watt bulb would work fine (honestly your day time bulb could be fine). For a young cham, hotter temps could be problematic. As for sex, I believe your chameleon may be female due to the apparent lack of tarsal spurs. This means you'll need an egg...

    Diet Help

I have a 4 month old Veiled Chameleon. I have been feeding him superworms, hornworms, crickets, and he can't seem to resist schefflera leaves. What would a good diet plan be? I was thinking -On cricket days (4 days a week) (12-15 crik) -On worm days (2 days a week) (2 superworms 1 hornworm)...

Chameleon not spending much time under UVB

Linear, but I'm glad to see that chameleons are able to know how much UVB they need.

Chameleon not spending much time under UVB

I wanted to know if it matters whether my cham is spending time beneath my fluorescent uvb or if the uvb spreads. I have a 75 watt basking lamp in the back and the fluorescent UVB is pretty much in the middle, but he seems to spend most his time closer to the back.
