I dont know to much about chameleon hearing but I can tell you that once asleep my cham has never woke up due to music or movie being to lound. He has slept with a whole party going on next to him. You want to keep noise levels down for sure but thought I'd add what little I know about hearing.

halogen I use a halogen, they are very powerful lights and have to be used carefully. They give off lots of heat and also last ALOT longer then standard heat bulbs.

I have the same issue. I live in the north and its alot hotter now. What used to read 75 in the shade is more like 85-89. I noticed him towards the bottom and dark colored so I turned off the heat light. To me the uvb doesnt seem like enough though. I guess I'm going to try the lowest...
