If you go on vacation...

...Who takes care of your chameleons? My brother is in charge of my animals, although my sister in law is never thrilled when I make the call...she does not like handling crickets...or worms...can you imagine that?

FAMILY MEMBERS HELP ME OUT ...BUT THERE IS SOMEONE IN THE FAMILY THAT DOESNT LIKE REPTILES OR THE BUGS YOU FEED THEM WITH..:p

Family members as well. I would not trust a pet sitter even if they were paid. Unless they had a great reputation with reptiles specifically... sorry but no thanks. :(

My boyfriend (littleapollo) takes the reptiles from my family members and my reptiles. My friend who lives around the block takes care of my furry/feathered animals. She also takescare of my tortoise since he doesn't need to be misted severaltimes a day and what not. :)

Right, it took me a lot of time to show my brother how take care of my pets and how to handle the feeders...you should the look of my sister in law whenever I pull up their driveway with all my cages and stuff! Priceless!:D

Fortunately my sister lives across the street and I can leave the little ones here.

GF feeds, but not much more.... I have a resovior for misting whihc last about 4 days.

Feedign I have to split into individual cups with a little food ofcoarse for feeders, I stick with crix when on vacation

She just dumps them in on top.

I free range and he seems to fond most if not all of them so foe me this is the best option I have at the time.

But shes been good woth everything else, from the 3 reef tanks, 350g salt tank, 2 dogs, couple turtles, feeding/gut loading crix, and dubias, oh forgot the seahorses..... she just cant handle actually transferring the crix to cage etc... so I have acup/jar for each day.... long vacation I might need someone else to cover.... or if she goes with me Have a friend that has reptiles so makes it easy except he live 45 mins away, so he lives here whiel Im gone.... better than having some random friend/family member saying they are taking care of him to find out they dont feed at all or overfeed etc.

Nice! My brother lives 5 minutes away, it is just a pain to load/unload my cages and lights etc...Anyone watching the Galaxy game? Beckham was told by the English coach he is too old to play representing England, and now he is back with the Galaxy pretty humble and quiet...I know totaly off topic... :)

my sister has always taken care of or critters when we go out of town... but that was pre-Stanley..
i've had her over to get acquainted with him and his needs so when we go in October she will be comfortable with him... she isn't afraid of him, i think the crickets will be a bit of a challenge... if they would just get in the collection cup when you put it in their bin, it would make it much easier for her.. :)

Normaly I had someone that could look after mine...but not anymore..
So I might have to find new homes for my chams and other herps by the December :(
And I was planning on getting some more panthers, mellers and Oustalets, but dont think I can anymore...

My problem here is a night mare!! My husband has to take vacation and care for my chameleons & he isn't crazy about my chameleons.!!!

I have no family where I am at... and no one cares to feed crickets to my chameleons, or repto-min to my turtles, but they don't mind the puppies/dogs, and cats.. :) so i don't leave :(

Pet Sitting

Speaking of Pet Sitting...While it's Open topic :) My friend and I are going into Partnership starting our own pet sitting business in Venura County "CA" right now were working out all the paper work and such...Anyways for those oh you who live in the area and need a pet sitter let me know! Both of us are experienced with Reptiles..My friend dosnt have any herps right now, but she had a 3-4ft Monitor :) Anyways...Once this is up and running I'll be sure to let everyone know! But as of right now for someone watching our pets..we use a friend..since it is hard to find trust worthy people who know what there doing with chams..or reptiles in general!

Currently looking for applicants for thanksgiving week! :D

Anyone in the Brea, CA area? haha

In the past we had a local keeper coming by and I've had my boss take care of them when I was 2 miles from work. Recently I have stayed home or we go on short trips. I haven't been home to Chicago in like three years :( Gonna go home for a week at thanksgiving
