Its been a long day so far of moping and dealing with Jolly's death. I put Jolly's previous cage netting into the washer with hot water and bleach. I plan to wash the frame and fake vines/plants with bleach as well, I've moved it all to the garage for now.
I am having an autopsy done on Jolly to make sure it wasn't anything contagious before I give his cage to Swyft. I washed the plant but will wait on that as well.
I bought Swyft's light housing and new uvb tube bulb and incandescent bulbs 40 watt for his basking area. I was mistakenly heating the entire room for them, so now I've brought out the AC for the main house and will monitor the temps to make sure it doesn't get too hot.
Swyft was quite attracted to the new uvb light, kinda cute how he ran over to it. I bought him some superworms today and confirmed that he likes those.
I didn't expect to have my heart hurt so much with Jolly's death. I'm hoping I don't lose Swyft as well. Thankfully Swyft is at least heartily eating and drinks, I'm hoping that means he'll pull through.
