Hello everyone,

1. I hope this is an okay thread for this post.

2. is 1 of those bulbs listed in the title enough for an adult male Panther Chameleon in a 4x2x2 mesh cage?

3. How often do you people replace these? Petstore says 1 year, I've heard 6 months.

4. I heard Exo Terra is going to LED for these products, that sounds promising for electricity bills, does anyone know more details about this? (again, hear say from petstore)

The 22" 6%/5.0 is the current gold standard for reptibreezel XL 4ft style cages.

If you dont have a meter you need to replace them around 1 year. With a meter you just replace as needed. I have never got less than 2 years out of a bulb, but i have a meter.

There is also a LED boosted version of that hood for growing plants. But there is currently Zero UVB LEDS for reptiles in the retail sector.

Plus the T5 is 33% more efficient vs an old T8 style. Leds are still not super efficient in high power applications vs fluorescents.
