Zeus, my new Ambilobe!!!!!!!

For the longest time I've been wanting one of these beautiful "skittle" colored chameleons. Especially hearing how much better their temperament is compared to my previous Veiled. Well as luck would have it, Chameleons Northwest had a beautiful blue bar named Torpedo that they literally put up for sale minutes before I started looking. I swear it's as if it was mean't to be. Well we've changed his name to Zeus because he's defiantly king of the house, and the most magnificent reptile we've ever had. I think he may be a red body blue bar, as at 6 months he has a ton of red pigment coming through. Either way he's awesome and absolutely perfect. He's even helping me down all the butter worms I need to get rid of before they go bad. It's easier for me to add pics from tapatalk so I'll do that here in a second.

I can't wait for my baby's colors to turn out too He's just under 3 months, but today he showed little splotches of green and blue and orange!! It wasn't much, but enough to make me excited haha

That's awesome. I wonder at what age Zeus started changing. I guess that's one of the things you miss getting one hats a little older. Oh well it's still a mystery to see how it all turns out. Ive been taking him outside for about a half hour every morning when the sunshine is real high but it's not too hot yet, and I swear it's making all the difference in te world with his coloring. I have the Reptisun 10.0 24", but now I want to beef it up some more. I suppose Arcadia is the next step; or maybe an outdoor cage.

Yeah, right now my baby is teeny tiny haha It's really cool cuz it's almost like he can't control the splashes of color, just the basic shades, but idk haha

That's cool it's too cold to take my baby out her, plus I'm scared he'll get eaten or lost, and I'm still giving him privacy haha

BTW, 10.0 is too much, you want a 5.0

I've been wondering about the 10.0. I read some stuff from the forum way before I got it, and can't remember exactly what it said. It just made more sense at the time to get the highest UVB output I could find. He seems to love it, trying to get as close to it as he can.

I think its the concentration of the uvb. 10.0 is for desert, or drier climate reptiles. And i believe i read somewhere that 10.0 can hurts the chams eyes... I'll look it up and get back to you

Oh I gotcha. I have noticed him moving his eyes around weird like. I thought maybe he was trying to flush them or maybe help shed start on his eyes. I definitely need to read up on it ASAP. I got side tracked last night
