This is Erik, the young male in my avatar. He was imported in May 2016. Beaten up, battered, with chunks out of his dorsal crest and sail fin. Even his horns are knocked askew thanks to collection/import. I love his eyes.

Did you take any before pics? I know it may sound generally horrible to some and you are welcome to pm them to me if you have them so as to not upset people, but sometimes it is literally so amazing how much than can actually recover. Internally there is damage and likely will always be, it's the problem with importing, we all know it, but those who do use it to gain wild caughts for breeding purposes are in their own created hell. They feel terrible about the supporting thing but know it's generally the only way to help at least reduce the pressure on the animals in the wild. I honestly just want to see him at his absolute worst, and then be able to see him now. If you think about it, humans that would go through the same physical stress the chams do, not even talking about mental, it would take those humans like twice the amount of time to heal as much as a chameleon can. I am not even talking outwards appearance, just general physical wear and tear from importing.

The ability to not only heal but also mentally adapt for these animals sometimes astounds me.

Anyway Janet, amazing as always and he is absolutely lovely.
