Yet another cricket question.

I received my order of 500 crickets today from Ghanns and I got crickets smaller than he usually gets fed because I know by the time he can toast all of them off they will be plenty big, some possibly too big. I believe they are the two week old crickets (either 1/8th or 1/4th of an inch, memory isn't serving too well at the moment) and I was curious how I should adjust his feeding. He was getting around 14-20 a day, probably averageing 15 a day and I read here (https://www.chameleonforums.com/wha...run-out-crickets-45076/index2.html#post421268) that my baby veiled shouldn't be eating that much. Since he will now be eating smaller crickets for a week or so until they get a little bigger, how many should I be giving him?

If it is any help, the space between his eyes is probably between 1/4th-1/3rd of an inch. I believe he is around three months old and he is a baby male veiled who gets fed twice a day.

When they are babies they say let them eat as much as they want! It sounds like 15-20 no matter what size is plenty!!!

Yeah, but as I recall there was a caveat in the advice that included something like "not more than 15 a day".

Jonah, maybe try feeding 15 of the smaller crickets a day and see how that goes?

When I had baby veileds I didn't even count. I just let them eat all that they wanted in about a 3 to 5 minute time frame with a few left to free range in the cage for later.

Larry has learned that if he sees me with a cup or bag in my hand its feeding time. He will rush down from the top and shoot crickets out of the cup, its kind of cool actually. He toasted off around 15 or so, I didn't count but it was a good amount.
