Yemen Chameleon - Day Two

Little chap seems happy enough, but has shown no interest in his Locusts (just ignores them). As a test I added a couple of meal worms and a wax worm, total different story, he instantly gobbled them up :)

I understand they're quite fatty and not especially good for them to eat regularly, so after some more researched I've ordered the following from a UK supplier:

- Small Dubia Roaches
- Medium/Small Silkworms
- Morio Worms

Question: He's also ignoring the (small) brown crickets in his feeder.....Well as good as ignoring them, he ate just one of them today. It'll be a couple of days until his new food turns up in the post, should I just persevere and ONLY give him the brown crickets on the understanding that if he's that hungry he'll eat them?

Thanks for reading and giving me the the benefit of your experience :)

To Clarify...

....When I say only give him crickets until his new food turns up, what I mean is not give him more of the worms he seems to love, just give him the crickets and locusts he seems to be ignoring.

You want to make sure that your locust and crickets are not to big for him. Feeders are not suppose to be any wider than the space between their eyes. Dubia, silkworms and morio worms are all excellent feeders. Just keep offering him a variety and hopefully he will try everything soon. :)

The Waiting Game

Thank you Jann. I think you're right that the size of the locusts could well be putting him off, but that can't be the reason for the crickets, I was careful and picked up small ones....

Do you think my approach of sticking with the crickets until his new fare arrives is OK (will hopefully only be 3 - 4 days). Or should I also give him the wax and meal worms again so I ensure he's eating something?

As a new owner of a reasonably young Cham I'm not sure what's worse for him, being hungry or eating something that's not very healthy :)
