Yellow Urates ? Orange Urates

Today I spot cleaned my veiled cage and noticed that his urates were slightly orange. This is the first time i have noticed this here is his misting schedule 3min at 7:30am before I leave to school 5min at 5pm when I get back and 8:00 pm right before his lights go off. How can I get him back to his normal white urates?

I would add a dripper and mist until you see him start drinking because it maybe taking him a few moments to realize what is going on... I always do that with jasper and bagera. Sometimes it takes longer for them to start drinking sometimes its almost right away...

You probably need to increase the misting a bit. Can someone step in and do a short spray mid day? A dripper would be very helpful.

Maybe add some wetter feeders? I know wax worms are "treats" but they are moist...really, any of the "maggot" worms are probably helpful in hydrating.

I would get a leafier plant in there like an unbrella plant that holds big water droplets. Your cham cant pass up a leaf full of water.

if youve absolutlely got no way to mist during the day, make a dripper with a very slow drip so it lasts for a good portion of the day. you could also leave a few ice cubes on top of the cage near the basking light. a good way of aiding dehydration is to feed some extra silks & or hornworms. ive heard a lot of different ways. feeding the crickets a good wet gutload will also help hydrate the cham. i know of people who inject the crix with water or put a bit of water in the feeding cup. that would only work if the chams gonna pick them off right away before they die. hope some of this helps...

Please do not use ice cubes! how would you like to have ice cold water dripped on you?? That is bad advice for a dripper... Get a soda bottle poke some holes on the bottom and let it drip...

have you ever tried this? the water forms a big puddle before it has enough weight to drip through the cage. by this time the 3 ice cubes are melted & the water is about at room temp. ive tested this. i woulnt let cold water drip onto my cham. i surpose maybe it coukd be bad advice depending on the type of mesh. thanks for your concern tho.

Is the urate just yellow or orange only on the tip, or generally throughout? A bit of yellow or orange on the end with the rest white is not a concern. If generally yellow, rather than white, then consider adding a dripper, and/or increasing the hydration of the prey (through wet gutload of fruits and veg or through choice of juicy prey like silkworms, cabbage loppers and hornworms).

About half is yellow could it be to much vitamins and calcium? Oh and I just got him a dripper from my local herp store
