Yay I'm supper excited!!!
I finnaly got a day off on a warm sunny day so my chams can finnaly go outside and play. I'm excited to see their reaction when they get some real sunshine! This is going to be fun!

Ok, I've been waiting all day to take mine out, and now that I've read this I can't wait any longer. I feel your excitement!!!

It was lots of fun and Sunny turned a beautiful light green with sky blue color. He's WC so he loved it! And I'm working on getting the pics on here since I didn't take them on my phone. It can't wait for another nice day!

It was so freakin awesome. Calypso was turning all kinds of green and yellows with some faint blue. I'll put the pics up here in a sec. The only bad side is as an overprotective parent I'm worried about the plant I put her on and if one of the red ants I saw bit here. I took a bunch of pictures of the plant. Really the only thing that worried me about it was the bottom where new chutes were coming out had white sappish looking stuff on it. Not sure if its a ficus. About the red ant thing; I thought I read that they like to eat red ants, but she didn't eat a one? If one of them did bite her is there anything I need to worry about?

This is the bush that I'm worried about.

Saw this while out. Anyone know what it is? Calypso almost made an escape in the few seconds it took me to take the pic

These are the chutes. You may be able to see the sap

These little bumps on the plant look unfriendly

Does anybody know about the plant in the pic I'm worried about, or the fire ant question? If she did get bit by a fire ant what would happen?

I'm pretty sure that brown lizard is a green anole/American Chameleon. And as long as your Cham didn't eat the plant it will be fine.

Sweet, good to have the reassurance. I read some more stuff saying they needed to ingest the plant. Now as long as the red ants didn't mess with him I should be good to go.

I take my Senegal outside about once a week. Since I hate all of our bushes (and our neighbors cats that tend to hide in them and chase birds, I am never going to put my cham on a bush, but that is just my choice. I did however, get a really tall fake potted tree yesterday at our local goodwill that I am going to use as an indoor outdoor free range (outdoor will always be supervised)

Up until now, when I take it outside, It just sits on my hand or climbs up my arm a bit. It seems to like it. It gets a really bright green unless it is too hot out, in which case, we stay outside for about 2 minutes then go back inside. It's not much time, but I don't want an overheating animal on my hands (literally).

Good idea, and I wouldn't put a little one in anything other than one of those potted plants like slugs doing. Today I took her out again. This time I found a shorter cut group of bushes that I thought would be easy enough to manage. WRONG, chams are smarter than I thought. She had an ever so slow approach to some monkey grass that I was underestimating, and by the I repositioned myself around the bush she had bolted in. My heart sank shortly followed by a rush of energy to find her. She had turned a grayish color I had never seen trying to blend into the lower grass and dirt. Way too close of a call. I'm seriously thinking about going to get a plant here in a second to just put outside for her.

Yeah, I've notice Calypso was turning really black today, but she's turning a lot of different colors altogether.
