Yawning?

My Cham opened her mouth as wide as it would go an then shut it.. Then did it again a couple minutes later.. Do chams yawn? Should I turn her lights out?

yes they yawn if thats what you want to call it but it does not mean they are tired. Just turn off her lights at the regular time. Sometimes they yawn if they are getting ready to shed to stretch.

one thing I want to say though, if you notice her doing it continually there could be other issues. If she is basking and constantly holding her mouth open, then the temps may be too high. If she is holding it open allthe time, she may be having trouble breathing and it could be a respiratory infection. Most likely she is fine but just something to think about and keep an eye on.

Usually my Chams yawns are followed by a body stretch and a quick twist of their body.
