wow, life sucks.

Some things are really really cool.. but if you don't have the $$ to take care of it (it being a life that depends on YOU) then you aren't ready for it.

Save up the money and buy an adult, life is much easier and finding feeders at your regular pet store is also much simpler. In terms of time, it's not as if you need to exercise your cham ;) I'm in college full time, at the barn all the time, and at work as well. I'd buy the largest cage you can afford to give your guy plenty of space. I'd say set aside at least $500 before buying a cham.

I have horses as well, compete and show. It'd never be an option to sell my horse. You will have to take vet bills into account, while chams are cheaper then horses, the vet bills are still quite ridiculously high for such small animals. Make sure you know of a potential reptile vet as well. Of course you have to make sure you can care for your cham...I can tell you pulling the funds every month can sometimes be quite interesting. It's all worth it in the end but don't put too much on your plate or you'll go nuts!
