Worried about female chameleon

My female panther chameleon about 6-7 months old and it scratches at its cage a lot whenever I open the cage she runs out to me on my arm any ideas on what could be wrong with her? I also saw her dig in the corner and scratching in the corner??

Welcome to the forums. This is a great place to learn about chameleons. Do you have a laying bin for your girl? She might be looking for a place to lay eggs. They can and often do lay eggs without a male even being around. If they are not provided with a place to dig and deposit their eggs they can become egg bound and die. Is it possible for a 6 month old female chameleon to lay eggs?

What species do you have? Veileds and panthers have laid and died as early as 5 months old. Especially if they are overfed and kept to warm.

what size cage is she in ? I would leave a laying tub in the cage , just to be safe.

I have a panther and I feed him about three silk worms a day or about 8 crickets a day

This method also help females panthers to produce smaller clutches and not so often and sometimes keepers have success with no clutches at all.
