hello!! Can I give a 4 month and older panther cham a diet without crickets or roaches, such as superworm staple with occasional horn worm or silkie? I have searched and there are posts that say exclusively using superworms is OK, but these post are from 5+ years ago and I didn’t know if ideas had changed. I dont want crickets or roaches. I can get superworMs easily and will be able to get silkies and hornworm and mealworms on occasion? Thank you

I would not. Superworms, even properly gutloaded, are very fatty and not the best nutritionally. If you are opposed to keeping a supply of crickets or roaches then I feel a chameleon is not the best animal for you to keep...

Variety is key for a chameleons diet and superworms are often used more as a treat item rather than a staple feeder.

First of all, no meal worms ever. Just to get that out there. Secondly, why don't you want crickets or roaches? Superworms are addictive and poorly nutritious, so they definitely cannot be used as your staple. Look to black soldier fly larvae instead, if you absolutely are unable to use crickets/roaches. However, they are very small and you will have to feed significantly more than you would crickets/roaches (which also means a greater cost). I hope the reason you don't want the common feeders is because of your chameleon and not because of your own personal inclinations.
