I got two chameleons at a "fair". They were both fine. One was trying to catch a moth and fell from about 4ft high. Now it doesn't eat and seems to be sleeping all the time. It climbs around and stuff. Also it scratches its face on the foliage in the habital.

Are you keeping them together? Please fill this out.

That's a lot

They are in a ten gallon aquarium with a screen top. I have a night warming lamp and a day basking light. I haven't actually taken a temp I am pretty confident it's not that though. It is possible that I didn't have enough moisture in side. The Cham has that dehydrated look, eyes are sunken way in. When I first got them (2) they were fine. They both ate. I catch small grasshoppers in the yard. How ever, the one that is not doing well ate one the was pretty good size. After that it tried to get a June bug and when the bug went down so did the Cham. They were on a shelf by the front door. I was there the whole time but didn't realize they could fall. It landed on its feet and was all freaked out with its mouth open and all flat like a defense look. I put them away and added some moths to the aquarium. It seems uninterested or it will spot the food crawling but once it stops moving the Cham just forgets about it and closes its eyes. I put some starter plant from my veggie garden in and I'm hoping that with the moisture from watering those under the lamps will create more humidity.

Just fill out the bits you know, it looks like a lot, but it will really help people understand your setup and see if anything needs tweaking. It also helps when figuring out if he's injured or ill etc. Photos are also really helpful, especially if you aren't sure what kind of chameleons you have.

Please don't be put off, you have here a wonderful resource and unlimited free advice to help you give those chameleons a wonderful life!

i have read on here of chams having problems in aquariums because the air becomes stagnant and can cause some infections. im not a expert im just saying what i have read i could be wrong though

first of all we need to know what type of chameleons they are. Unless they are pygmys they cannot be kept together unless they are babies OR in an aquarium. You need a uvb light or they will die. You do not need heat at night. how are you providing water? What are your temps, humidity, what are you using for basking...what wattage, what type of bulb. Yes, it is all important. Please fill out the form so we can help you.
