Won't Eat From Cup

My year old male Veiled will not eat from a feeder cup. The last time he ate from a feeder cup he was around 4-6 months old but since then he won't eat out of one. Today I put some crickets into his feeder cup and he wouldn't go near it. But when I placed something into the cup, to allow the crickets to crawl out, he went bananas shooting at them. He even ate three out of my hand. He ended up eating about a dozen, so I know he's not eating out of the cup because he's not hungry. Any ideas or thoughts to why he will not eat out of a cup now?

What kind of cup? Does he have a way to get over the cup to shoot straight down?

Yes he can get on a branch and shoot straight down to them. It's a clear cup a that's a little shorter and smaller around than the cups you get when you order Hornworm pods from say smallpetfeeders.com or greatlakeshornworms.com. I really don't think it's the cup at all. I think he's just not into eating by that method. Ever hear of a cham that just refused to cup feed?

I may be wrong, but if you leave them in there, I think he will be forced to eat them eventually. I know these Chams can be stubborn, but I dont think they will starve to death with food in front of them!

Well since he's pretty healthy I have tried to force him to cup feed by not feeding him in any other way for 3 days straight before (tried this a few times actually). Just left the crickets in there for that same amount of time, or roach nymphs, and he just will not touch em. He will however go eat a little soil from his plant pot during this time. So I just stopped doing that to keep him from eating soil. Pure rebel .
