Woke up to this, is this mouth rot?

He is a fairly young panther chameleon and I found one on both sides. Can someone tell me if this is an early mouth rot or am I just overthinking. Thanks.

Awwww he is pretty? Had he shed recently? I am guessing you are talking about the flaking on the gum line?

I believe he shedded a couple of weeks ago. Yea, it seems like his gum line isn’t perfectly straight and he wasn’t like this before.

I can’t say if it’s mouth rot or not but it’s definitely the beginning of a problem. You’ve caught it relatively early, take advantage of that and take him to a vet now, don’t wait.

Agreed with the above, the lip flaring out is a little alarming. It could heal on it's own or it could develop into a serious problem. Make sure your vet is experienced in chameleons. Many don't have a clue.
