Woke up this morning and found this moth at the bottom of the enclosure. What kind of moth? Where did it come from?

I believe a hornworm escaped from the feeder at some point and turned into this Bubba. Please let me know if otherwise and I should be worried.

Yup, that is a hawkmoth from an escaped hornworm. Nothing at all to be concerned about. When they are ready to turn they burrow into soil, which is how you didn’t know it was there.

Yep its a hawkmoth, sadly my dude wont eat them rather just watch them then i have to set them free lol. Hopefully yours enjoys the flying treat!

Yeah, it scared the crap out of me when I saw it first thing in the morning. Never thought I'd see the hornworms transform. My veiled didn't eat it today, so we'll see tomorrow...

I let a couple of mine turn into moths figured he would like the treat, but i guess he wanted the company instead
