There is a terrific contrast between what they looked like when they were living in the wild and what they look like after living in captivity. What is the primary reason for the difference?
I imagine living in the wild is much harsher for them where the elements as well as the available food and water resources vary a lot more but is that what you attribute to the difference or something else?
Also, because their colors are clearly brighter does that suggest they are actually healthier or is it just assumed they are?
I'm very new to chameleon husbandry and only have one which was captive bred. I can only imagine how challenging importing chameleons could be; and expensive as well I suspect.
Forgive my ignorance but what is the advantage to importing as opposed to purchasing from a breeder?
