why is is cham scared of me?!

why is is cham scared of me?! when i open her door she literally "runs " away from me! she is a xanth, i don't know her age.
is it because she doesn't trust me yet? or is it because she is stressed, first from only being at the pet store for 2 weeks before i bought her and still getting use to her new home, i have had her for almost a month.

Yup shes still scared of you, she doesnt quite trust you yet, my cham is the same way. He will run away from me when hes in his cage, but when hes out hes really chill, and I have almost had him for three months. You should hand feed her and free range her, then she will get comfortable around you

you are big, fast moving and quite possibily a predator. She is smart to hide.
in time they can get used to you, as the bringer of food.
move very slowly around her/ when she can see you
dont invade her territory too much / dont attempt to handle her, at least not right now
