I feel like I have already gone over UVB with the OP.... But yes a 10.0 or 12% T5 bulb should never be used unless someone has their cage specifically set up for it. A 5.0 or a 6% are recommended for nearly everyone. With a 5.0 or 6% you need a 9 inch distance to basking branch or UVI levels get too high with a 10.0 or a 12% you need a full 12 inch drop between them. So that means nothing closer then 9 or 12 inches depending on which fixture your using.
