why does she do this

My mam was the one to point it out, On weekends my chameleon will sit on her branch looking out of the glass, when my mam comes in she will just sit and watch her, but if i sit up in bed, she spins around and only holds onto the branch with her hind legs and her tail, she then waves her front legs around in the air towards me, is this normal or do chameleons actually recognise people ?

Of course they recognize people. My chams watch me all day and Luie my male veild gets really excited when my husband comes home for lunch and after work.

Not really related but glass did you say? A screen mesh is better to harbour less bacteria, less reflectivity as they get freaked by their reflection (since they don't recognize themselves), and air flow.

I think they are from the UK so glass would be more appropriate for them

hi its a wooden tank, with mesh vents all down the back, with a glass slide door on the front, a full mesh tank seemed impossible to keep warm and the humidity up here.
