Why does my panther colour up more when out?

Hi there, im just wondering why my male panther will get alot brighter when i take him out of his encloser onto a big plant, he goes so much more brighter/colourful, than his normal colours, but he is not firing up.

Also my male veiled gets lighter when out a little

Is this something to do with something not right in the setups?

thanks

They are much happier out. How would you like being kept in a cage? Wouldn't you be happy to be out?

Yeah for definate, i did think that might be the reason, so obviously they are aware when in the encloser on a fiscus and when out on one? as he does colour up so much, more

I have a huge fiscus i let them on each in turn during the week i may rig some lights above it, so they can go on it for a whole day,

Just take you lights off the cage and hang them above the tree if you plan to leave him there all day he will need to bask and get his UVB. I have two veileds and they free range, in separate free ranges, all the time and they are very happy and quite colorful except when bashing and then they will turn a dark color to absorb the heat.

Thanks i think that is the plan, as they loved the outside, when it was hot/sunny.

This tree you put them on...it's inside right? They can not free range outside except for when you are watching them every single moment.

Yeah inside, i had one outside too when i was there watching them this summer they loved it,

and seem to like the one inside, so as the summers gone, will rig a uv and a spotlight over the inside one, and let them out all out a day a week i think,

My lil guy was freeranging outside with other animals constantly aroudn him for the first two months of his life. And he's in perfect shape...! But yeah maby its not the safest, but he was my gardens best friend he was verry happy, now he is sad
