Why are Andapa Chams not very common?

I am very taken with Sambava's, but in my research, I have become very curious about the Andapa locale. I read they were once very prevalent in the US, what happened? Are there really such strong trends in cham keeping? The pics and coloration are very fascinating to me. Just wondering...
 
It could just be that no one has imported them lately. Some locales just aren't brought in as often.
