White stuff on her nostrils?

Hey guys, so I really hope I'm just over reacting but I'm stressing balls here! My baby (2-3 months) has got this white powdery stuff on her nostrils. It's definitely not supplement power as it really is only specific to her nostrils. I'm also worried that she might be dehydrated. I've seen pictures of dehydrated cham's eyes being sunken and all but I really just can't tell :< There is a picture that I hope is good enough, please let me know if I need to get a better shot. She's a bit camera shy... I apologise as well my hands are a bit shaky.

It's difficult to notice but it's rather flaky white stuff around the rim of her nostril there.

Thanks in advance!

Oh thank goodness, at least I know now what that white stuff is. I remember the same thing happens with Green Iguanas but they actually sneeze the stuff out. Thank you very much! But as for the second part of my question, does she look dehydrated to you?

After re reading and reading some of the older threads on the subject it seems as if there is some disagreement on what causes it but it's an excess billed up of salt -
I wouldn't suggest cutting calcium in your situation (which was suggested by a couple of OP's) as the back leg on your little guy has a bit of a bend to it - he seems to be using it fine so I wouldn't let that freak you out but I'd go with the extra misting before I made any adjustments in supplements - check the care sheets for veileds and go with what is in there- unless someone with more experience (I have none with veileds) tells you differently.

He doesn't look extreamly dehydrated to me - I've found it's easier to tell from poop than from their eyes unless they are very dehydrated -

I was typing while you were - she doesn't look dehydrated to me - her poop should have a white substance - it will sometimes get more orangey if it's older and with little ones it's hard to get and keep the white white - but with my one baby I tried to look every day and adjust spraying and dripping to poop.

It is totally normal, usually it is from the vitamins/calcium. It is very common by veileds. Yes maybe your guy is a little bit dehydrated, but very cute! :)

That baby looks a little *iffy* to me in the calcium department. I believe it may have MBD creeping in.
It's also very small if it is really 2-3 months old.
You may want to carefully review the care guide here on the forums and make certain everything in your husbandry is lining up with the guide...

Flux, I just noticed that too.
That back leg does not look right, I thought maybe it's just the camera.

Also, he does look a bit dehydrated (that could also be the camera lighting).

Hey AbnormalZA, what do his urates looke like?

Veiled chams poop looks different from jax and panthers, esp when they are
adults, but at his age, it should be fairly easy to tell if he is getting enough
water just by checking his poop.
