Where to get rid of it.

Well I really like my first veiled cham but im 15 and I dont really have time anymore cause school and a cham. My mom only will buy crickets from petstore so we spend money on him every week and we really dont have money and im trying to let my mom atleast keep her money. where should i sell him im not sure where to? would a petstore take him? (an exotic one) ive always wanted an inside dog and my mom said that i would need to get rid of my cham. cause she spends alot on him and she doesnt like crickets.so i think while im in the house i will just get a dog.
Im giving up on chameleons right now but when i get my own house and later on i will get my own chameleon
my chameleon has been really fun and cute and hissy :p please give me options

Post him in the classifieds here, perhaps someone will want to take him. If you could ship that would open up your options, but you might be able to find someone local.
 
Where in Texas? There are lots of cham owners in Texas. I might be able to help you get it to a good rescue if you can't find a home for him.

I will be in the San Marcos area next weekend then San Antonio and the weekend afterward back to San Marcos and then onto Houston so if anyone in any of those areas is interested I can provide transport!

and just for more info i bought my cham for 40$ on aug 28 2011
so far i only feed 7-8 crickets probably supposed to feed more -_-
supplement calcium everyday repti calcium saturday and calcium all week and reptivite on that saturday.
i feel like im just a noob and should give up for a while thanks for all the help so far right now my cham is in a new small repti breeze cage should be bigger right? -_-
 
Well, if you want to sell it, this isn't the proper forum.

I know I thought you were just looking for a good home for your animal, not a way to recoup money. I'm sure I wasn't alone in that.

My offer to transport still stands if someone is interested. So does my offer to get him to a really good reptile rescue if not. But I won't be able to give you any money for a rescue.

Congrats Ferret!!, and im a little confused as well, I thought this kid just wanted to give his cham a good home. Im sorry for all the time you have put into this thread trying to help
 
I hope you do the right thing and give your cham to a dedicated member(s) who have offered care.

May I ask why did you purchase a cham that requires alot of time, care and maintanance? And decide you don't have time. As with all animals they NEED care, they rely on us.

Sorry I sound annoyed, I feel its unfair to the cham and before getting any pet, THINK before you buy. My guess this was a impulse buy rather than really thinking about it.
 
Good for you yojon for being mature enough to recognize that and being responsible in finding him a good new home in a caring community of other chameleon people! I hope someone will step forward to help you out but if not I can come get him in 2 weeks and get him to a great reptile rescue I work with. I can can even come in a week if you need that sooner.
