Where to buy food?

Ok, I usually get around 20 crickets from petsmart or petco with some meal worms, go through them and do it over again. I know there is more I can do for my little guy and I would like your recommendations. What should I add to his diet? Where should I buy his food? Everything you are willing to share. Also what size cricket is good? I get smalls but I see on some website there are pinheads. Also, he just got done shedding..

Hi what a cute little guy you have
I order my crickets 500-1,000 at a time. There are several sponsors on the site where you can buy them in bulk and it saves a lot of trips to the pet stores and a lot of money. If you feed them a well balanced cricket food, fresh veggies and a clean water keep them your crickets can live for months. I use Rapashy's Bug Burger and fresh veggies such as kale, mustard greens, chard, oranges etc.
I get mine from LLLreptile.com. They have free shipping and are really great
to deal with. It's just preference who you order them from. Others suppliers are Josh"s Frogs, Ghans Cricket Farm, Flukers and other sponsors.
I also feed super worms which are healthier then meal worms which you can order in bulk. I also get mine from LLLreptile.
I also feed horn worms which I get from MulberryFarms.com or Rainbowmealworms.com.
You can feed Dubia Roaches which are easy to breed.
Other insects are Stick bugs, Mantids, locusts or grasshoppers, wax worms, vita worms. I'm sure other members can add to the list.
The more variety you give your Cham the healthier it will be.
Your Cham looks like he could eat 1/4" crickets and small to medium super worms and smal hornworms.
Hope this helps :)

@Wolfloveschams - Here's the good news... The way you're currently buying food for your Chameleon (i.e. in small batches from a big retailer) is probably the most expensive way. So, at the very least there's potential for you to save money by making a few changes.

Definitely switch from Meal worms to Super worms; which are also easy to find, available in different sizes, and considered healthier (for Chameleons).

Other than that, you should also consider introducing more variety into your Chameleon's diet. As @JaxyGirl said above there are lots of options available in addition to Crickets such as: Dubia roaches, Green Banana roaches, Lobster roaches, Silk worms, Horn worms, etc.

Best of luck!

Cute little boy you have there! :) As for feeders, I never buy in large quantities since I only have one chameleon. Most would die off before I could feed them. Superworms do last quite a while, and there are other options out there. I always order small hornworms or silkworms so I have some chance of feeding them off before they get too big or die. If there is another keeper in your area you could share the cost and but feeders to feed multiple chams so you don't waste as many.

You can also check out some of our forum sponsors for food. Be careful to read the shipping details and pay special attention to the temperature requirements for shipping and cold/heat packs.

Thanks for the info! I love my new guy and I want him as healthy as can be! I only have the one also, so I don't want to buy big quantities. I figured by asking you guys would post some sites that might make sense for me. Thank on all the complements on Kumar! I absolutely love this little guy! I will be switching to horn and super worms immediately!
