i got a hydrometer/ thermometer with probe from Lowes. i put the probe in basking to test it ....then i just put it in the middle of the cage for ambaint temps....i have a 2x2x4 so its tall...and thers alot of place to put it.
u dont get what i mean i dont know if u use thermostats over in the usa they basically turn off the heater when it gets to the right degreess. To turn it off it has a probe which measures the temp so it knows when to turn off so where do i put this if it is a screen cage
In the same room. The ambient temp is the ambient temp. If one side of the room is 70, the other side is gonna be pretty dang close unless you have a football field sized room and only a heater vent on one side...
dont think you use thermostats you put the probe under the basking spot and it tells the heater to turn off whe it reaches the desired temp what im saying is how am i going to get the probe into a screen cage
I know what a thermostat is, but you kept saying heater, which lead me to believe you meant the whole rooms ambient temp. What I do is tie to probe to a branch, take the wire and use metal wire or twist ties to keep it along the side of the screen. Have it come out of the door or through to framing (you might have to unscrew a few things to get it through the frame.) or you could just cut a hole in the screen. Whatever fits your fancy.
