I have had my 3 month old ambilobe Cham for about a week now and he looks really healthy and eats allot but I was wondering when he will start to shed I have not seen him shed yet. is he to young still? I also noticed he dose not like being misted at all and I do not use cold water it's Luke worm soo I try not to wet him is this bad?

They all shed at different times and rates but i would recomend misting your chameleon's surroundings. Never stop misting them. Plus, usually the more you mist, the faster their shedding process goes.

I do mist the surounding but since he does not like getting wet should I avoide misting him directly? I also think it eratates his eyes when they get wet because he will sit there with his eyes closed and bulge his eyes for a couple mins

If he doesn't like it then don't do it. Him closing his eyes and buldging it means that he is cleaning out his eyes.

my panther sheds about once every 4 weeks. I got him when he was 4 months old and he is 5 months. I think that is about average for them to shed when they are young. I would not worry if he does not in 4 weeks, there is no set schedule. They do it when they are ready! You will see little dry white spots here and there and may notice him protruding his jaw out and contorting his body. Don't freak out if he does this! It is them starting the shedding process.

what do you mean by contorting his body?

I say mist them. Start at the tail and ease into it, but mist them. They drink the drops coming off their noses. Mine does a very dramatic "I'm melting"....but it doesn't fool me, I see him sipping the water in.

haha yea mine does the same, when I start to mist he runs and climbs on the top of the cage like spider man he knows that's when I stop misting him

One of mine gets up on his hind legs and starts waving his arms and making sure his his belly gets sprayed. sometimes he walks right where i am spraying so he can be misted.

Amy shed once a months from 3 months to 6 months. At this time her food intake dropped and she went to shedding every three months like my first adult female did.
