When do Panthers stop growing?

Hello Everyone,

I have a 10 month old amblilobe male that I brought home last July and was wondering when do they typically stop growing? I don't have any health concerns and my little guy seems to be very happy and healthy. I guess I'm just curious about their growth cycle and how my little guy is doing. He's around 7" long from nose to vent right now and I had read in several places online that male panthers get to be 18-24" in overal length. Is my guy a little small for his age or does he just have a lot more time left in his growing cycle? Sorry if this has already been asked but I didn't have any luck using the forum search tool. Too many words in the search phrase maybe? Anyways I'll try to snap a current picture and get it posted for you guys when I get home from work tonight. Thanks, everyone.

Popeye is now two years old and measures about 17 inches from nose to tail and weighs 200gms. I think he stopped growing at around 18months. They all grow at different rates. Some fast ,some slow.

They generally tend to stop growing in length around 18 months and then start to bulk up a bit if they haven't already. Since they are reptiles, they don't really ever stop growing (and therefore still shed,) but it slows down to almost nothing around 24 months.

Does anyone know what the standard weights are for one year, 18 mths etc?

there are no real standard weights for chams.

The reason being is that just like people, chams grow at different ages.

When my male veiled turned a year old, I posted his weight, and someone else said that their male weighed alot more at that age.
My male wasnt under weight, just different.

It varies, so long as the cham is healthy, doesnt look starved, and is growing properly, then what he weighs is not as important.

Is there maybe an average length? I noticed my guy was eating like crazy at the beginning of December and has thus been eating alright at best. Wasn't sure if it's a growing thing or maybe I should have adjusted lighting for winter.

Thanks for the replies everyone. It sounds like I have nothing to worry about and my little guys still have plenty more growing to do. I just got a dowel this morning and put some zip ties every 1" so I have a better way to measure Loki (10 months) and Poseidon (7 months). As promised, here are some pics of our two guys:

Thanks, I'm really happy with how they are turning out/growing up.

I bought Poseidon from LLL Reptiles at the last Sacramento Reptile Show (Sept 29th) from a group of 8-10 week old babies so maybe he is just big for his age?

He looks about the same size as your other guy, so they could be the same age, or he could just be growing faster than the other. I would go with the age you were given when you bought him.
