What is the earliest age that you "purposely" bred your male Cham? I know that you generally wait on females until they reach a year old or minimum weight. Just curious about the boys...
My boy Rinty was about 21 months old. He was ready long before that of course, but he was waiting for Jasmine......I decided that she was ready when she was 21 months old.
He was a bit impatient at times.......but he decided that she was worth it - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhcTwDdKTFY
I started breeding when I was 16. We worked together, and I had noticed that I caught her eye. She was a bit older but still shy. One night we started talking after work and...oh chameleons...

I've heard of breeders starting at jump street and I've heard of breeders waiting until the boys color up to most of their potential. Again, just curious.
I think that if you ask, most people will say that their males were over a year just because the average keeper tends to get a male first, feels comfortable, and then buys a female. So typically the male is maybe even a year older than the female by the time they breed for the first time.
But I think it was Lancecham who had little studs ready to go as young as 4 months! But he breeds only beasts, so they are huge 4 month olds! lol
my name is Cameron and I consider myself fairly educated of husbandry of chameleons. however I know that I will always have more to learn and want some advise or experience tips to help me along in my breeding process I may not even be in the right place let me know your thoughts
