Wheezing? Coughing?

Hello, we have recently noticed our female chameleon start to do this weird coughing thing. The first time she did it was about 3 days ago and about a week before that she had laid eggs. I don’t know if the coughing has anything to do with the egg laying as she was fine the whole week afterwards. Now she has been doing this maybe every 3 hours and she only coughs about 3-5 times. I’m not Sure what it is, I have a video but it will only let me post a picture so I took a screenshot of the action she makes.

How many eggs did she lay?
Did she do it normally...dig a hole, lay the eggs in it and fill it in?
Yes she did everything normal, she has laid eggs once with us before and everything went smoothly then too. She dug it and laid about 30 and then covered the hole up and was fine afterwards.

I just watch your video on ig and came to the forum to tell you it sounds like a RI. Do you have a vet in your area?
I have looked online and on this forums about RI and other then the weird coughing shes doing, everything else is normal. She has been eating and pooping fine and we have been spraying the cage and having her drink way more water out of the dripper since she laid her eggs. She doesn’t have any weird nose deposits or crustiness. There hasn’t been any other signs of trouble breathing either. I mean it definitely sounds like a respiratory problem, maybe even RI, it just seems strange that she isn’t doing anything else out of the ordinary.

Not strange at all. Chams survive by blending in and doing all they can to remain unnoticed, same goes for any symptoms or sickness. They hide them until it becomes too much for them to hold back. I agree with Jox, you should proceeded with the RI theory.

Do you know the humidity of your cage during the day and night?

here is an article about RI that I love

maybe the help sheet could shine a bigger light on the problem
