Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Veiled and she has been mine from a baby and she is about 6 months old.
Handling - Not much, my wife handles her sometimes and she likes her and hates me ha ha.
Feeding - We feed her crickets that are gut loaded on calcium dust as well as spinach leaves or lettuce. We also feed her superworms and she LOVES those ha ha.
Supplements - We use the Fluckers Calcium dust
Watering - I have a dripper, I spray her cage with luke warm water multiple times a day and my wife gives her water from a baby (no needle) feeding syringe and she loves that.
Fecal Description - She is nice and green and still shows patterns when she's upset. Right now her chin is peeling. We haven't had her tested because the only herpetologist in town killed my last Cham...
History - She's always been active and hungry with normal sleeping spots, habits and times. Now she is not sleeping, eating or drinking... Just sits around.

Cage Info:
Cage Type - I have an all mesh cage that is 48x24x24 from DIYCages.com.
Lighting - I have a Repti-Glo 5.0 fluorescent fixture above the cage and then about a foot and a half away from her basking spot is a 100w heat lamp that gets her spot about 85 degrees.
Temperature - Her basking spots are about 80-85 and at night from 72-75.
Humidity - Her levels stay from 60-80 depending on when I've sprayed. I keep it up by spraying her plant and her. I also take her out to my patio from time to time and let her sit in a plant similar to the one in her cage while I spray her for like 30 minutes.
Plants - I use a live plant and it's a dracena plant. It's a safe plant.
Placement - I have her cage in a little room by the kitchen. It's by two big windows that I leave the shades open so she can get some extra natural light and keeps the temps a little higher than the rest of the house. It is a decently used room so she isn't away from us but we don't bother her.
Location - South Texas.

Current Problem - She use to be active and ate and drank often. She also use to have very normal sleeping patterns. Now all of the sudden she isn't eating or sleeping very much if at all and she sits at the bottom of her cage. Other's thought she was about to lay eggs and I've tried the big laying bin the way that I was instructed by others on this forum and she isn't interested at all. Also, she looks like she's peeling but it's just her chin that is peeling and it's been a few days. Usually she peels like crazy all day and she's done in like 2 days tops. Can anyone help me? I'm going to take her to a new vet that was recommended to me at around 3:45 today... But I figured I could ask on here too ha ha.

Doh, that really stinks to hear. I dont know but besides the laying bin if you've tried that ehh don't know then. good luck with the vet and let us know what happens, good luck.

6 months old now from a baby? Same reptiglo 5.0 fixture for 6 months? Just curious if you've ever changed it is the only thing i'm really seeing. then again i could be way wrong, just a thought.

You may want to gutload with more stuff. For example, apples, butternut squash, etc. Heres a link to a blog, (Which is NOT mine) that talks about correct gut loading. https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/sandrachameleon/75-feeder-nutrition-gutloading.html
Supplements - We use the Fluckers Calcium dust You need to use calcium without D3 every feeding, calcium with d3 twice a month, and a multivitamin twice a month. This is all VERY important!
Watering - I have a dripper, I spray her cage with luke warm water multiple times a day and my wife gives her water from a baby (no needle) feeding syringe and she loves that.

It seems as though you're correctly hydrating your cham, based on the watering description.

The problem may be that you're only giving her calcium, without any other supplements (D3, multivitamin). A picture of her, and the cage would be VERY helpful.

Answers in red. :)

I hope the vet visit goes well but if she isn't egg bound I would raise the temps slightly. Also, with my females once, they are about 6 months I always have a laying bin in there enclosure. How long did you previously leave the laying bin in there for?

Here's recent pics. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1316459711.721929.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1316459774.190653.jpg

could you post a few more pics. Maybe it is just the way she is holding her arms, but her front one in the picture looks very curvy.

Just as I thought. I think she has MBD. Like I said, its probably a lack of the supplements. Take her to a vet familiar with chameleons, and tell them you think she has MBD. They will probably do x rays and some tests, and will give her a calcium shot.

Curvy legs and/or more than one elbow are symptoms of MBD. This stands for metabolic bone disease. It is a calcium deficiency and it softens the bones, resulting in fractures. This is why you see curvy joints and more than one elbow. It is usually caused by a lack of nutrition and supplements, and/or a lack of a UVB light.

MBD can not be reversed, but can be stopped. It is VERY important that you get her treated.

Even if she has a really strong grip? Would that have anything to do with her not eating? I can't feed her more if she won't eat... The vet I took her to just now said she seemed really healthy.

Also, the vet said that she felt "swollen" in her stomach area indicating the possibility of egg growth. He said her color, grip and mouth were all very healthy. So I just don't know what to do. I'm going to get another UVB light to illuminate the middle branches where she sits mostly because the top UVB light is mostly blocked by the leaves of the plant. So maybe that will help... But if it's a calcium problem a light won't fix anything because Vitamin D will only allow her to take in more Calcium and that has to be eaten. She won't eat or drink because of her possible egg situation. I'm lost.

Maybe she's not getting the right amount of UVB because she's prego and hanging out at the bottom so much and not near her lights?.. Maybe she started her egg growth and retreated to the bottom like they do and was just away from the light for too long?..

At the herpetologist and he says she has eggs that are underdeveloped because of a calcium problem. So she is getting calcium supplements for a week to correct that and if her eggs aren't dissipated or fully grown in a week they'll have to spayed her. I can't wait to find out the cost of that little endeavor...

I think that calcium problem is MBD. :(

Its good though that she's getting treated.
