Ok now you all got me wondering about the locale. So there are different panther chameleon? Which I kind of knew because I saw red bars and blue bars and some just all blue. But if you wanted to breed them you would have to make sure they were from the same locale?
Panther chameleon is the name of the species. "Locale" refers to the region of Madagascar they are from, which give them specific color characteristics. So, a Nosy Be panther chameleon is from Nosy Be island and are mostly solid blue. Ambilobe's are known for red bar/blue bars. Ambanja's have blue bars but have a distinct pattern as opposed to Ambilobe. These are just a few examples and if you look at a map you will recognize a lot more 'locale' names and get an idea of the geography
