What did you put in there?
I was putting his big dripper tube in there

He was facing the other way then he looked back and he started poofin at it. He calmed down after a few minutes of staring at it while poofing and started to drink from it.

I had been trying to get him to drink the last 3 days and he wouldn't drink while on my hand, so it was a happy moment to see him drinking his fill immediately.

Are you sure you have a male? Does it have tarsal spurs?
I looked for them when I got my veiled and didn't see any but the pet store said he was a male so I just took their word for it but now that you point it out, probably female as well. Looks like I'll be needing 2 lay bins. Pet stores really need to learn their stuff, smh.

Yeah those are female "I'm pissed" color patterns.

Ive been spotted 🤣🤣 but got a good pic of the back foot for you to see yourself.

I've owned veileds in the past so I'm familiar with their identification, idk why I decided to take their word for it.

Sure why not.
I'm just gonna go with it.

My wife says "you sure like females don't you, you little man w****"

Lol 🤣 thanks for the positive identification.

Also are you able to tell by her features how aged she is? I've noticed her flap that covers her reproductive organs has gotten larger, her back spikes have alsi gotten larger and more refined, and the white spikes on her underside have gotten quite large as well.

I'm trying to know because I need to get ready for when she tries to lay.

Also she seems to have some shed that isn't peeling off right, like her top half will shed and then her torso and legs will shed, I don't know if this is normal.

I can not tell really without something to compare it to. But from the colors she is displaying and her size looks to be roughly 6 months IMO. They will start shedding in sections as they mature. They stop doing full body sheds and only shed the sections they need to. It can take additional time for the shed to release as well depending on the sections.

I was estimating around 6 months anyway. Can you remind me, don't females begin to lay between 6 to 8 months? I need to get her enclosure in shape ASAP...

I have egg crates and steel mesh coming this week with a drip tray and pots for the plants, I plan to use her bioactive substrate in the pots and then add a deeper lay bin with a plant and something going in there so she can get to it. I also need to get the play sand.

She does not look like she is close to laying yet. Typically it is more like 9-12 months they lay their first clutch. So you want to have the enclosure set up correctly so she is totally used to her lay bin being there prior.

Any recommendations for a lay bin and sand I could order on Amazon? It helps to have someone more experienced help me with these things because you'd know what works best.

Are those fake plants I spy? I mean I don't condone them and honestly used them in my veiled's setup in addition to multiple real plants without issue, but I know you need to be cautious with them.
