What should a chameleon look like when basking?

Hello, it’s been awhile hasn’t it? Happy new year to all.

my chameleon got his new upgraded enclosure and he has been LOVING it. He’s been 100% trained to eat out of a bowl and is very healthy, went to my exotics vet that specializes in chameleons and they told me all is well and that I’ve been doing great, all that I needed was an extra multivitamin, which I ordered.

I just had one question that’s been lingering in my mind for awhile. My chameleon has always been a darker color when basking (showing off his spots Kind of dark) is that normal for basking? Everything is good temp wise for his basking (80-85) and his enclosure is an XL reptibreeze.

+1. Perfectly normal. Sometimes they'll just darken the side toward the basking light, and the other side will be lighter. Talented little fellows!
