What makes your chameleon spaz out?

my cham gets so mad when she sees her spray bottle. she also hates one of my cameras (the low quality one phew) how does YOUR cham fire up?

Today he fired up when (i leave the garage open sometimes to let them get sunlight) a bird flew in and was on his cage trying to eat his supers and crix, then another day he fired up when he saw my dog (she doesnt go in the cham room often)

My veiled fires up when I refill his dripper or his feeder cup. Whenever he's out of the cage for cleaning etc. he doesn't freak out unless something blows on him.

My panther however will flip at anything. I open his cage to take out crickets, he pretends I can't see him behind the little stick, I try to hand feed him, he hisses and runs away (haven't tried that again) I guess he's STILL settling in lol.

Lily doesn't 'fire up' very often. She's very chilled out and laid back! The only thing to get a reaction is the mirror in my daughter's room! She's not too bothered with any other mirrors though - just my daughter's mirror with the 'big bad chameleon' in it that Lily doesn't like! :D:D:D Silly Lily!!

females dont fire up that much,m especially for the mirror, Thats a boy thing

Ahh! That explains it then!! I wondered why she didn't react much! Still odd that it's one particular mirror that gets her going though. There's no colour change - she just gapes and hisses a bit!

Leo hates this stick. Its more like a dowel rod. He didnt mind it at first and actually uses it to bask on..But today apparently he wasnt feeling it and attacked it.

Does it have a certain design on it? maybe it looks like snakes or something on the outside

Norman fires up over a bakugan ball. dark blue with teal markings on it. Wow does he hate that thing. Instant pissed. I have a video of it, but I havent managed to get it up yet. will do soon :)

Nah! It's just a plain full length mirror with a silver frame! Nothing remotely 'bad' or 'scary'!! She doesn't react much at all to other mirrors. I've also got a little plastic chameleon that she doesn't like much either!!

Thaxter is very, very laid back and I have never seen him fire up without provocation that I can at least interpret. He attacked a barbeque spatula once (firing up and actually biting it), but I was trying to coax him to climb onto the wooden end when he was discovered atop the cricket cage, and he felt moved to defend his resource. I don't believe he bears the spatula any ill will.

The only thing that will fire up my male veiled is when I approach him with gloves on. He hates gloves! He will lunge and bite...he can even hurt my finger through the heavy leather.

My veiled still tries to hide everytime he sees me. I may need to try the mirror thing just to see if he colors up. His normal color is not too spectacular.

Glad I am not a big handler of my herps......

My Vieled female "Osang" hates: Cameras, hands, and the dog. However, she seams to enjoy the vibrations of smooth jazz on the guitar.:) I will put on a mellow jazz backing track and lay down some tranquil guitar solos, and she comes out of hiding and hugs her branch and watches me like a 14 yr old girl watching Justin Timberlake. :D All on low volume of coarse.;)

Mine doesnt even look twice in the mirror. He looks and then looks away because its not interesting enough for him. I cant get him to fire up with that method, and the only thing that makes him mad is when my old old cat bootsie comes in the room. its a smease and she is like half blind and he does not like her at all. my other cats tho he doesnt mind its her that makes me puff up a bit. oh yea he hates my moms one red shirt too. he doesnt like her in red, i guess its not her color.

Leo fired up BIG time last night. Got him out and put him on his basking stick while i cleaned the cage and he turned RED.. I know he doesnt like me touching him, but wow, it was beautiful!!

He also got ticked last night. The kids came around with the beanie baby chameleon and sat it next to his cage on the desk not thinking, and he got BIG..
