What Lizard Should I Get???

I posted a thread for a 55 gallon snake but chances are I am not getting one so any suggestions for there legged cousins? I don't want something simple like a leopard gecko. I was thinking a chinese water dragon but can they be in a tank 1.5' tall? I haven't had any for awhile and when I did I am sure I was doing it wrong. Is there a small tegu or something I can put in there? All suggestions of what kind of critter is accepted!

I think I will go with an ackie monitor. Uros aren't very good pets for handling and I want something I can interact with, like an ackie. Any idea where I can get one in northern cali or Iowa?

I'm not sure where you got that information from, but my uros loved to be held, both red and yellows, and my ornate.

Ok, changed mind on ackie because they need like 130F and the metal halides from the fish tank already make the room too hot. I am going with a chinese water dragon.
