You FOUND it at your front door??!!!! Meaning there is possibly yet another feral species of chameleon in Florida???!!!! WOW!!! What part of Florida are you in if you don't mind me asking?

Your right- It is a Mellers, but she said she found it at her front door- Do you mean that it was wild in your yard and you just stumbled across it? If so that's kind of significant. I'm not aware of feral populations of Mellers in Florida,......YET

ha ha! I was thinking she "found" it too when she first didn't say! I was like I live in FLA and never saw any of those running around my yard!! lol!

Heather, Heather. I believe you have "the sickness". It's this really bad condition that is caused by getting a mere 1 chameleon. It quickly spreads throughout your entire body - especially the brain, causing you to be quite delerious, as well as the wallet/apendage causing you to spend money on these chameleons (unless you get them for free). This condition quickly becomes an addiction which will cause you to take over the entire home with chameleon cages and after a while, you will be putting them in your daughter's room (I am a recovering addict so I speak from experience). :D

I thought that was funny. Yes, I have the sickness but strangely enough, I'm OK with that. :D

It's better to have this sickness with chameleons rather than birds or cats! I've seen those episodes of Animal Hoarding on Animal Planet! http://animal.discovery.com/videos/confessions-animal-hoarding-choosing-birds-over-people.html

What a cutie pie!

OMG she/he is adorable. This is such a fun stage to get a Melleri. I bought a Melleri that same age/size from the Gesangs earlier this summer. It has almost tripled in size and shed twice. I call her Skye even though I can't know the sex yet. I'll change the name to Skylar if it turns out to be a boy. My little Skye is just now confident enough to take Dubia from my fingers. Skye can see the big free range with the three adults from her cage. When she snags a Dubia she will glance up at the adults to make sure they are not going to go after her prize. She looks at them for awhile before she starts chewing. Have you picked out a name yet? Congrats Heather!

Thanks Catherine, I think (s)he's adorable too! That's a cute story! I haven't deciced on a name yet, I have a theme with my names, so it might take a day or 2 to get the right one!
