What is the Kinyongia Cult?

not including babies lol, and how are you the grand elder without any?:p

I have had some rare species of Kinyongia in the past and I'm the one that initial named this group. Me being one of the three initial founders the grand elder title fit best as I have worked with species of the Kinyongia genus since the late 1990's I have got some old school experience. As well I have been providing guidance for people that are breeding Kinyongia today hence the grand elder title kind of a title of an adviser works for me. I'm going to be working with some more Kinyongia soon.

By definition, a "cult" is a relatively small group.

I think that's all that's implied.

Supergirl, you might PM feareffect (who's a female, by the way) and ask, I don't think those fall into the group, but as noted, I'm new.

**edited to add**
Or listen to the grand poobah who posted while I was typing....

I don't understand you feeling you are new when you joined in 2009, what am I missing?

I guess I can't join the club, I am sending my last tav back to Jared. That will put me out of them for good - I think.

Something in the range of 30 replies, 124 views in about 2 hours. That is kind of taking off! I'm glad to read that that many people are interested.

Well I have about 15 adults and 7 clutches incubating each from a different female and I am just the "Stable Keeper". The truth is that we still have a ton of smoothing out to do so do not dwell on the titles too much. I'm gonna get my butt kicked for saying this but Ace really does have a point about the weirdness of the Cult theme even though he shouldn't since he has met me and my GF in person. I'll just say right now: WE ARE TOTALLY NORMAL;)

Showjet I would call you the Test Pilot or, keeping with the theme, Alchemist for taking risks with the rare and odd and expensive species. Feel free to add that to your signature.

Now, that all said folks there is no advantage to having a certain title so don't feel bad if someone dubs you "Gutloader" :p I mean all decisions are done democratically.

The best thing about this group so far is that it lets us all see that there actually ARE many Kinyongia keepers. I have even been contacted by some outsiders who have tons of Kinyongia experience but just did not know who to share with!

The group is a hub for Kinyongia keepers and in the future we will focus our efforts on establishing a solid CB population of one of the less common species (assuming we can ever acquire a large enough population).

I absolutely LOVE the idea of a group on chameleonforums.com for those who keep, have kept and are interested in keeping the best genus ever, Kinyongia!!!

BUT, this is what the group is founded on and going for:confused: Just a stupid little title like the "Grand Elder" or "High Priest" Its childish if you ask me.

Their should be a group for those who keep, have kept and want to keep this genus but it should not be "founded" on stroking your on ego.

What the group should be "founded" on is a common interest. Everyone as a whole. This ranking system is what will keep people from wanting to join or ask questions in what I think the group should be founded on (scheduled chats, QandA, enclosures etc.) Questions from interested people that will get all of us who do things a little different sharing techniques etc. You know, advancing the husbandry as a whole not a divided system.;)

Yeah Cain. Like I said above (probably while you were typing) the titles are not that important. That is basically what we are.

Louis, you are modest for what you do. In no way was my post directed towards you.

Read my edit. You guys know who you are.;)

I'm not stroking my ego. Fearaffect mentioned to have titles and it sounded neat for a cult and we went forward with it. We have founded this group/cult on common interests now that you bring up that point. If your interested to see how the Kinyongia Cult started read this thread.

Since we decided to go ahead with the cult title why not have titles that are distinguished for all members. It is similar to fraternities having titles and structure for members. Experience member are going to be recognized in this group. It is by all means not a knock to have a title in this group.

Yeah, it is really just a bit of fun.

The Kinyongia Cult is a newly started group of devote breeder/keepers and fans/keepers of chameleons from the Kinyongia genus. There are a few of us presently and we are working towards making this an official group on these forums. Something similar to SBCK group. If your interested presently I would contact Seeco and Fearaffect.

Jeremy

Why not use the Kinyongia forum in the advanced keepers section? That's what that was created for afterall.

WOW....first off, Im Female???!!

To put people at ease, we wont be sacrificing Trioceros virgins or any other weird crazy cult activity.....
Motherlode said it best, more like a fraternity. This group is where all that love the Kinyongia, keep/breed them and new admirers can learn more about them.

If the whole title thing is to weird for some......then just put Kinyongia Cult Member OR Follower.........geeesshhhhh people....One of the reasons for title/membership in signature is to get people interested in the genus.......AND it looks like its working.......also, to acknowledge those that have years of experience...and for those that are just joining that have little or dont have one yet.....to let others know that and that they may need help in learning about the this awesome genus.

Now then, I need to finish up my Cult robe and make my staff of 'GIA for the sacrifices......:eek:;)
