I have read something about a Kinyongia Cult and have seen it in a signature somewhere, but don't know what it is. Can anyone explain?

The Kinyongia Cult is a newly started group of devote breeder/keepers and fans/keepers of chameleons from the Kinyongia genus. There are a few of us presently and we are working towards making this an official group on these forums. Something similar to SBCK group. If your interested presently I would contact Seeco and Fearaffect.

The Cult part came from how devoted and loyal keepers/breeder of this underrated genus can be.

that makes sense, but you still cant take away any of its somewhat eery connotations it implies.
however i do agree it's genus is underrated and deserves more recognition.

For such a unique and cryptic at times genus the eery connotation "Cult" name seemed an appropriate name. Similar to the kind of the informal name for Parsons keepers as the "Parsonii Club".

I've been curious about this cult/group too.. (this is about monotones right?) please excuse my ignorance if i'm completely wrong! I did chat with feareffect a few days ago..... he was telling me about how awesome their personalities are and he highly recommended getting one when I add to the gang. Are carpet chameleons & pygmys considered acceptable for this group or no

No Carpets and Pygmys are not excepted for this group. Go to the forums tool bar and look up Kinyongia under the Species heading and it will provide a list of acceptable species names.

By definition, a "cult" is a relatively small group.
I think that's all that's implied.
Supergirl, you might PM feareffect (who's a female, by the way) and ask, I don't think those fall into the group, but as noted, I'm new.

LOL There is a bunch is misinformation in this thread
Best thing to do was already stated though, look up the species in the tool bar to completely understand them.

One of the main points is to break away from more mainstream species such as veileds and panthers. This being done by appreciating a very under rated/less worked with Kinyongia genus.
