What is a normal color for a baby veiled??

I could have sworn he was older too but she swears he is not. When she found him two months ago ( I saw the pictures with the dates on them- August 15-07) he was almost half of her index finger sitting on it (that included his curled up tail). I am guessing about 5 weeks?? She only had him two months before I picked him up last weekend. She almost started to get offended when I was pushing the subject about his size. I believe her and know she has no reason to lie. She is a 50 year old realtor with no reason to lie. She said she was amazed how fast he grew too. She lived in the country and fed a lot of katydids and stuff like that. She would give him 20 crix a day and would catch a bunch of stuff. Her 80 year old mom would spend most of the evening gathering food for him. She almost started to cry when he left. She emails me all the time to check on him. Is it bad he is growing so fast?

Id say hes old enough where you should control his eating a little. Maybe give about 4-6 medium crickets a day. Growing him too fast can lead to MBD (calcium deficiency), which is a all too common and nasty thing for chams to get. Like this guy here:

Thanks, I will make sure he cuts back. He had one butterworm and about 5 medium crix today. I will leave him on a schedule like that.

I too second the notion to cut him back a bit. If he is that big at that age he may be growing too fast for his bones.

Did you ever find out about his supplements? Be sure to be using the calcium without D3 every day, then calcium with D3 2-4 times a month plus a vitamin supp.

Other than that he look really good. Great for that age. Just give him some time to settle in to the new digs.

Everyone says different stuff on how to supplement. :( What is the best to do?
I have been doing calcium with D3 every other day and then reptivite on the opposite days.
Should I do calcium without D3? If someone can just jot down a schedule for me on how it should go.
Thanks
Some say use calcium with D3 more and some say use plain calcium?? Some say reptivite 3times a week and some say 3 times a month...

Yes, there isnt really a normal way to supplement, so many have different schedules. I use the Kammer schedule, since theyve been breeding chams for so long, it has to work.

Monday and Thursday - Herpavite
Tue and Fri- Repcal
Wed - Sat - Minerall (d3 or no d3, depending on how much sun your giving them) Mine only get sun on the weekends so i do no d3 on sat, d3 on wed
