So, as im sure every one is, I'm planning a large DIY enclosure.
My plan is to integrate water lighting, temperature/ humidity monitoring, PTZ ip camera... and such... What features would you/ should I incorporate? im going to use a corner wall cabinet from lowes/ home depot.... 2'x'2x3' as a base. on top of that will be a sheet of masonite cut in half 6' tall. building screens(not sure what type of screen material to use yet), the "celing" will be 1/2 ply coated with something to waterproof, the floor will be a some what of a false bottom, for drainage and what not. pump and water will be housed in the cabinet, along with the electrical and lighting controls. any thing that can be DIY will be diy. the controllers with be networked, so i have access from any where, and will log temperatures, and humidity, with the ability to alarm if there are issues. what could, or would you add to make this "THE Enclosure"? enclosure.jpg

Great insight so far. I would factor in a few stratigec areas in the interior to plant on branches and vines. Dragon strand has covered just a out everything in their breeder series. Can't wait to see the progress shots!

they did have a good idea i might use, the laying box.... would be kinda nice to have a live plant base that would also be used as a laying chamber.

I've got the worlds weirdest resume. ... construction ... electronics repair. .... network administration. ... and I grew up in an auto body shop. ... so I'm using it all to build it. ... I'll end up building a foam tree stump in the back ground, covered in hydraulic cement, painted with an epoxy. It will house a misting head and probably the camera.... by the way, if my partner asks about the cost of everything..... take real cost devide in half, - 10%.... and any other number you wanna pull out of your hat. :)
