What do the colors mean?

I am wondering what the colors on a veiled chameleon means? I know that they change colors depending in their mood. I have a male and female. I'm not worried about the female it's the male. He's always brown and dark. But when he sleeps he very bright green. Is he stressed?

If you keep the two in the same enclosure, separate them. It sounds like one may be bullying the other or stressing the other one out.

if the chameleon is constantly brown, it probably = stress or anger. You want just plain green if you can. They will darken up to bask and lighten to sleep btw.
