My female panther has some regular colors but what would you say all the color variations are? Mood, cold, Hot, Stressed. She is a female Ambilobe panther.
Interesting question. There are so many variables and each species plus from Cham to Cham can be different. My own personal experience with my Nosy Be Male Panther:
When he's basking and getting his body temp up he's dark. Dark brown or very dark greenish.
When he's up to temp (about 80F) and just chillin' he's getting bluer and bluer. Like a powder or sky blue.
When he's on the hunt around the cage he's blue but has bars that are a lot darker blue
When he's chillin sometimes before he turns blue he's a dark kind of evergreen color
Finally, when he's sleeping he's a creamy color. This I hear will change as he gets older. He is only 5 months old right now.
Here is the last pic I have of him Chillin' in Blue.
Yes i also have 3 nosy be baby chameleons i just had shipped from USA to my city it was so hard and stressful and i kinda felt my local supplier who had the contact in the states gave me too young panthers... out of the 4 i ordered 3 managed to reach my city alive they are only 3 inches big with no colors yet... it is so hard to feed them they do not eat from deli cup so i have to put small dubian roaches on the screen enclosure or plant leaves for them to have interest to eat... very tedious. I also noticed that when the 2 panthers bask in the sun they turn very dark... I think they are trying to absorb more heat.
