Thanks Guys

looks like a blue-bar ambilobe

but where did you get him from? he could be a cross in disguise, either way he is awsome

Well I was thinking that too. But if he didnt get if from someone that told him what local it is. Then he will probley never know the truth. I dont understand why people dont question these things when they buy animals. No matter it be dog, cat or chameleon.

lol, yeah, i guess it can be of impulse purchase, but nonethless its a common mistake, especially for pet owners and not future hobbyist breeders, as long as it is happy and healthy, "normal" people can care less, but people like us it IS REALLY IMPORTANT:p

but for the most part i agree with you, a ambilobe most likely, "pure" who knows...

LOL. "Normal" people. That is funny.;)
Yeah, if its healthy and cared for right. Then who cares.

Most people who buy a panther chameleon without any research just don’t know what a locale is, or that they can be mixed. Also, they don’t care.

What are the tips off’s that this is a cross?

nothing really...but i seen some crosses in person that i thought were pure ambilobe by the looks

and i am no expert to just say its an ambilobe without question

I suppose if you were looking for something to make it a cross, its rostral could be an example, though not a good one. It doesn't look like a cross to me unless it's one of those crazy crosses from the kammers that have so many things bred into them you wouldn't even be able to guess everything that is in them.

He's beautiful! Looks like a blue-bar ambilobe to me. My little guy will turn out to look like this someday. Can't wait!

Hi Guys

I'm really sorry I haven't got back to any of your questions been pretty busy. I bought him from a shop called cold blooded in rainham Essex Paul one of the shop owners told me he was a nosy be you couldnt really tell at that time because he was only 4 months old and didn't have alot of colour so it was quite hard to tell what locale he was.

As he now alot older there's loads of colour in him and me personally thought nosy be's were mostly blue I my be wrong ( correct me if I am please)

Im hopeing his is an ambilobe coz of my female she how ready for breeding but if he ain't an ambilobe then I'm not going to breed the pair because there's to many cross breds out there and I would like to keep them pure locale.

So everyone thinks he an ambilobe I really hope he is. I have him book in to see a specialist vet on reptiles on saturday morning so fingers crossed.

Thanks dudes

So I have a question. He sure looks like a Blue bar Ambilobe to me. But Ambilobe has red bar's, blue bar's and not sure what else. Is it exceptable to breed within Ambilobe, so a red bar to a blue bar?

Yeah mate you can breed red bars with blue bars as long as there the same locales like 2 ambilobes or 2 ambanjas etc.

Actually you can breed ambanjas with ambilobes too. Panther chameleons are panther chameleons and they can all breed with each other because they're the same species, just different locales. It's like domestic cats - they're all different colors but they can all breed and make the same colors or mixes of the two. Cross breeding locales is controversial, but happens a lot and is not unnatural. Now crossing a panther with a veiled or some other species would be impossible. Just fyi :)

I no you can breed any panther with any panther but if there crosses you won't get hardly nothing for the baby's so it's better to keep them to the same locale.

Veiled chameleon x panther would like to see what turns out like. Lol
