Was he trying to eat them or just chewing/biting them? Its very common in juvenile's, how old is your cham?

Not trying to sharpen teeth. I've seen most of my chams do it once in a while. Possibly curiosity, possibly wanting some vegetable matter in their diet. I had a male veiled who sought out a Christmas cactus in the house when he was loose. Had to keep moving it.

I took my ambilobe outside one day when he was about 8-9 months old and he started doing it the second he got up in a tree. I wondered if it might of had something to do with marking his territory as he also did it in his cage.

Kamish used to-and does occasionally-chew on the schefflera leaves and stalks in his enclosure. I think it is when he is trying to get more water, so I just make sure I spray him extra well for the next few days. I think he just likes to do it sometimges though :)
