weird color changes

Sometimes my 4 month old, veiled, male, chameleon will turn super bright green one one half and super dark green on the other half of him. Is that something i should worry about???

You should do a site search, or glance at the other threads. I think this question was just asked and answered.

Chameleons change color sides independently, sometimes they go dark to absorb sunlight/uvb.

If they are constantly dark then it could be a sign of stress.

The "How to ask for help" forum and pictures are helpful for more experienced members to help diagnose the problem. (if there is one)

(mcbdz was quicker :p)

As noted, the "50 50 bar" look is often just the result of basking. They pick a side and put that to the sun/light, that side goes dark to better absorb the light. I've seen pictures on here of a chameleon who basked near a screen who had a screen pattern on his skin.
