Is some of that black pigment in his belly/underarm area also? In the pic it looks almost the same, just slightly darker in the shoulder area. There is also a little dot above the shoulder area.

It's just right behind his shoulder and that little dot up top on his back, on his belly it's red specks. It always shows up (seems to be just during handling) then disappears as if it was never even there.

It's gone now.. It's so weird. From what I have noticed he only does this when I handle him. The first time I noticed it looked like a scratch, got a closer look and really couldn't make any determination(beside just weird). Then I went to handle him today and he had the spot shown which appeared larger than before and in a completely different spot, but it never stays and when it goes it leaves no sign that it was even there ... It honestly doesn't look like anything to be majorly worried about like parasite, fungus, cut, scratch, infection, but it just really bothers me not knowing. Can they flare up jet black pigments in very specific areas when they are "showing" / possibly being stressed by me?

If it comes and goes it is just some sort of pigment thing he has going on when he gets excited. If it was there all the time it would be something else... I dont know what that would be...

wow, it just hit me now that you said it :p .... thank you, I honestly never even percieved that as black but it clearly is or even could be a really dark green. thats awesome. I'm stoked. :D
